This packaged gas/electric comfort system offers 13 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) cooling efficiency and 81% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) heating efficiency. This system also provides outstanding moisture control. At those ratings, this model easily outperforms an older, less efficient model you may be replacing.
Starting with the rugged base, these units are built from the ground up to withstand Mother Nature’s worst, resisting corrosion to ensure lasting product integrity. And because packaged systems include components typically found inside the home in traditional air conditioning systems, lasting durability isn’t a luxury – it’s a requirement.

WHAT IS SEER and AFUE?
Like a car’s mpg, SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is the measure of cooling
efficiency for a cooling system. It tells you how much heat is removed from your home in
relation to how many watts per hour it takes to reach your set comfort level. To give you an
example, the minimum SEER level for cooling operation in the U.S. is now 13. Payne offers
models that exceed that, giving you even better efficiency.
AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)
is the measure of fuel efficiency for heating operation. It tells you what percentage of
consumed heating fuel used actually goes into heating your home. For example, for each $1.00 of heating fuel that the Payne PY3G uses, 80% (or $.80) is used to actually heat your home. The higher the number the better, because when you waste energy you waste money.
